...shapes and proportions are for your intellect." -Carolina Herra International Herald Tribune, from New York Magazine

Carolina Herrera's seasonal collections are nothing short of enchanting. The bubbly designer's Latin American roots help evoke a sense of "new world extravagance" (Style.com) that is hard for other fashionistas to replicate. Herrera's spring Bryant Park collection displayed models with bright orange lips, luscious hair, circle shaped lace cut-outs in ivory and tweed, and watercolor inspired fabrics. The renowned designer proclaimed that this runway was an "explosion of color...for women who like...drama" (Style.com). Look for electric orange-silver concoctions, particularly cocktail frocks, in the resort 2010 series.

Carolina's Fall 2008 collection saw the rise of the dazzling feathered hat, which one fashion expert at the Bryant Park show stated was the 'appetizer' of her assortment. The theme of the months to come is classic, countr
yside elegance. Luscious furs, feathers, jewels, bow ties, and cowboy hats dissolve into a single theme of rustic royalty.

Carolina has an important inspiration to credit for her constantly imaginative work--her daugher--Carolina Adriana Herrera Jr. is her muse. Apparel is not the end of Herrera's dynamic creations. Her striking 'lifestyle' line includes fragrance, cosmetics, and accessories collection showcasing silk print scarves. On top of her brilliance in the fashion industry, Carolina Herrera is a designer to admire because of her hard work as a good will ambassador in the affirmative action program IIMSAM, which fights malnutrition in third world countries.
