Little Black Boots

Coco Chanel nominated the term "little black dress" in the 1920's, but it seems as if the haute crowd together, rather than  individual legends, have coined the effortlessly chic term
little black boot. Definitely not those shapeless Uggs. Not heavy snow boots in that hue, matted with fur, wool, and other stuffy materials that feel toasty in the dead of winter. Rather ankle boots, knee-high boots, boots with 9-inch heels, fringed and grayed, patent leather, satin. The little black boot is somewhat of a paradox because of its tendency to look casually posh regardless of the purpose for which it is worn. Autumn is the prime time for stylish crowd to remove its little black boots from their shoeboxes. Just when these sparkling don't take the fun out of bright, busy summer palettes. Right before the snow and ice comes as to make these classic works of shoe art lose their timeless appeal.

Ankle boots: the shorter, covered version of high heels, are smartly polished. Charcoal-colored anklets look sleek and gorgeous with super-skinny jeans, mini-dresses with dark tights, oversized sweaters (maybe in wool?!) and long, graceful trench coats. These additional fall staples will not clash and lift the eye away from the intricate details of the baby of the little black boot family. The thinner the heel, the fancier it becomes; boots with the same click and clack as ritzy stilettos are perfect for an evening stroll through the park.

I have also spotted these taller, leaner black boots that go up to the lower knee and I seriously cannot stop eyeing these. They belong on the runway in the way they are the defining piece of any sort of ensemble, no matter how creative, or chic it may seem. The long boots' sharpness and intensity make these girls appear as if they have just arrived from a high-profile social rendez-vous in Paris.

Regardless of design, height, texture, or detailing, the elegant little black boot is a showstopper. Just like every girl needs her unspoiled, versatile little black dress, she also needs a pair of little black boots to look respectable and professional in school or at work, and while edgy and sophisticated when going out.
