Precious Purple

Purple, the dramatic blend of summer reds and winter blues is striking a royal pose on this season's wardrobes. Michael Kors is a mastermind at layering his supermodels with contrasting shades of the hue in a way that always looks princess-like.Love this concord grape frock in chapel train style-- >

Purple's sisters--violet, lavendar, periwinkle--look soft and down-to-earth on short tunics, cashmere sweaters, and knit scarves. Purple cords are up-and-coming. The lighter, more florally shades of lavender and lilac add just enough glam in the daytime while rich berry shades in purple satin make evening frocks truly special. Eggplant shades may be a bit bold and is a major attention-grabber on long trenches. Purple in any shape or length is certainly complemented with glittery jewelr
y in pond-like hues (vivid turquoise, cerulean, teal, perhaps muted orange) and in gold and silver.
To add a little imagination to the color purple is to wear a large purple bow in long wavy locks or wear the crayola-colored splash on flashy stillettos. Purple on chunky statement jewelry is drop-dead gorgeous, especially an amethyst-painted ring or dangly rain drop chandeliers. The once only red plaid tartanpatterns are now being dyed bright purples! I cannot wait to see the purple plaid pea-coat. One way to add a minor sparkle of purple is to put on some royal nail polish but not in the "wicked" hue as that should be saved for winter. I have seen several plum shaded grandpa sweaters worn chicly with black tights and very in style royal purple A line skirts. Sweet ballet flats with purple jewels, lavendar satin, and beads stand out as well. The royal purple. . . so refreshing, natural, and flowery, yet so refined.
